The Fuji Shibazakura Festival near Lake Motosuko is one of the best
occasions to enjoy shibazakura in Japan. Shibazakura is pink moss in
English, and is in full bloom around from mid-April until the end of
May. 18, 15
Flowers are arranged in the shape of Fuji-san.
There also is a mini Fujisan, making it “double-Fujisan” with real Fujisan standing in the back.
One thing that people get excited over when it comes to matsuri: food vendors!
There were quite a few food vendors offering local specialties and
seasonal food. There were quite a few eating areas, where people could
sit and enjoy delicious food offered at the matsuri.
It was one of the most beautiful sceneries I have seen in Japan. With
different shades of pink flowers in full bloom with Fujisan in the back,
it made quite a fantastic view!
The exact location is located about a couple kilometers south of Lake
Motosuko of the Fuji Five Lakes. Here is the exact location:
The festival will continue from April 18th till May 31st. Do not miss this opportunity to see this view in person!
