Nanbu Hydrangea Festival

By Kendra Evans

In 2010, hydrangeas were designated as the town flower for Nanbu, in the south of Yamanashi Prefecture. Every year, volunteers work hard to grow over 30,000 flowers, over 90 different types in Utsubuna Park. The fields of gentle coloured hydrangeas are spectacular and calming, and the pride of Nanbu Town. A highly recommended event for flower lovers. The festival opens today, and finishes next week, so head down to Nanbu to see the park!

Open from 16th June - 25th June.
