Event:
Spend a day enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime sight of 600,000 sunflowers! The Hokuto City Akeno Sunflower Festival expands over three separate viewing areas, each just a short walking distance from the other. Enjoy the beautiful weather and the relaxing view as you stroll around and between fields of lush flowers with the Southern Alps and Fuji-San as your backdrop!

① Take the Nirasaki Interchange or the Sutama Interchange via the Chuo Expressway (about 15 minutes,, or about 40 minutes from the center of Kofu City).
Bus:
① From Nirasaki Station on the JR Chuo Main Line take the bus "茅ヶ岳・みずがき田園バス" (kayagatake - mizugaki denen basu) and get off at "ハイジの村クララ館" (haiji no mura kurara kan). Roughly 25 minutes plus a 5 minute walk upon arriving (costs 510 yen).

Q: Where can I park my car?
A: Asao Shinden, the Main Area, and Shinoson Park each have parking lots. However, it will cost 500 yen to park at the latter two spots.
Q: Is there an entrance free?
A: No. It is free to come and enjoy the sunflowers.
Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: Yes. But make sure that your dog is leashed at all times.
Q: Are there bathrooms available?
A: Yes. Each of the three viewing locations has a bathroom available.
Q: What kind of food will be sold at stalls?
A: Shinsen Yasai (vegetables) and various foods made with sunflower such as ice cream, soda, bread, and bacon.
Q: Are photos allowed?
A: Yes. Feel free to take photos and videos. However, please also be careful not to infringe upon the privacy of other guests.
