Event:
The town of Ichikawamisato is holding its 29th annual local summer fireworks festival on August 8, 2017. The blast will fill the sky with an impressive array of colors and sparks, expanding to a diameter of around 500 meters. You will be filled with awe as even the ground beneath you trembles due to this mighty force, leaving you to contemplate the underlying theme of this year's spectacle.

Many of us are fortunate to spend our lives in comfort and with ease. Compared to some other parts of the world, in which individuals may be confronted by complicated realities of political turmoil or natural disaster on a day to day basis, those of us who live in relative prosperity should do well to both remember that are own worldviews are limited and respect the lives and efforts of those who face constant hardship.

With these values in mind, the launching of these fireworks is to commemorate the dearly loved ones who have been lost, the cherished possessions that have been destroyed, and the many other aspects of life that are, from the standpoint of the individual human being, beyond control. We will gather as one to commemorate the many, lighting up the sky with the bright light of fireworks to project our hope for worldwide peace and prosperity.

Location:

Car:

① About 20 minutes via Route 140 on the Kofu South Interchange (Chuo Expressway)

② About 5 minutes via the Chubu Odan Expressway (Masuho Interchange)

Train:

① About a 10 minute walk from Ichikawa Daimon Station (Minobu Line).

NOTE: It is HIGHLY recommended that you take the train. The traffic will become congested around 5PM onward and there is limited parking space - only 4,300 parking spaces across 23 locations.

Other Information:

① 20,000 fireworks will be launched.

② 200,000 people are expected to come based on previous years.

③ The grand spectacle includes two rare fireworks that will be launched 500 meters into the sky exploding to a diameter of 500 meters.
