[Upcoming Events] Kawaguchiko Winter Fireworks and Saiko Juhyo Festival

Fireworks are synonym of summer in Japan, when festivals are held all over the country.

But in Yamanashi Prefecture, winter nights are also illuminated by bright fireworks that fill the sky by Lake Kawaguchi, from where you can see Mt. Fuji, with vivid colors.

Kawaguchiko Winter Fireworks will be held every saturday and sunday, from January 13 to February 18, at the main stage, Oike Park, and also at Yagizaki Park and Tatamiiwa, from 8 to 8:20 pm. Entrance is free, and the event can be accessed by bus from Kawaguchiko and Saiko areas.

Fuji Five Lakes area will also hold its famous Saiko Juhyo Festival, from January 27th to February 12th. 

Juhyo are frost-covered trees, that accumulate layers of snow and frost over the cold days.
Some of them can get over 10 m height and form fantastic shapes that, with the illumination creates an beautiful mysterious atmosphere. Entrance is free.

Saiko Juhyo Festival takes place at Saiko Yachonomori Park, and can be accessed by bus from Kawaguchiko. This is a great opportunity to visit two of the most famous Lakes in Japan and contemplate a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji while enjoying unique festivals.
