House Momoen – The earliest Hanami in Japan

Since February 14th, people coming to Yamanashi can check out beautiful peach blossoms in full bloom at House Momoen, in Fuefuki City.

With an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, at House Momoen you can try Hanami, the traditional Japanese custom of watching flowers in Spring, especially cherry blossoms and peach blossoms, that color the scenery in sweet tones of pink.
It is possible to see these flowers throughout all Japan, mainly from March to May depending on the region, but at House Momoen you can enjoy spring flowers before any other place in the country.

A koto concert was held in the first day
We visited House Momoen in the opening day, February 14th, and enjoyed the spring warmth inside one of the greenhouses even when outside was freezing. Many farms in the area are part of House Momoen, and depending on the day of your visit, after checking in the reception (at JA Fuefuki), you will be guided to the one which has more blooming flowers, so there is no need to worry about when is the best day to see them.

Besides admiring these lovely flowers, during weekends it is possible to taste wine and juice produced in the region, which is famous for being the biggest grape and peach producer in Japan.

Our picnic
Inside the houses there is an area for picnics and barbecue, being the perfect location for couples, families and groups of friends relax in warm place surround by beautiful flowers.

House Momoen will be held until mid-March. Entrance fee is 500 yen per person, with a juice included, and there are special prices for groups and visitor using the taxis from the area.
